Craft and be Restful
Outdoors and Arts

Arts and crafts
Anything is possible... Taking inspiration from the natural world and adding a few extra ingredients, mix with your imagination and be amazed at the results.
It's not all about the end product, however. You don't need to be able to draw, just get stuck in and enjoy the process.
Arts workshops can be inside and outside, preferably a bit of both, and can be mixed with other outdoor activities and part of a wider programme if required.

Leaf printing
Collect colourful leaves and flowers for botanical printing, using a mallet or hot water

Feltmaking
Make felt from wool, add in some natural objects or different fibres
Create a picture or pattern
Stitch it if you like
Turn it into a bag or slippers

Fabric dyeing
See what colours are revealed with natural dyes
Bring something you want to transform or have a go with different types of material provided

Carving
Carve something simple from wood
This is usually part of a bushcraft session but can easily be a standalone activity

Withy lanterns
Using sticks and tissue paper, add whatever catches your eye from the woods and make yourself a lantern, a creature, a kite, anything

Paint prints
Get messy with the roller and paint to make some stunning prints
